Personal Profile

Whilst training to become a counsellor, I obtain a placement working at Eaves Women’s Aid this involved supporting women who have suffered Domestic Violence and various other types of abuse which I continued with after achieving my placement hours.

I also work as an Associate Therapist for MADAS which involves working with Adults, Children or Families who have suffered from an abusive relationship, Bereavement, Anger Management, Self-Harming etc..

I undertake individual work with adults, young people and children as well as working with families who have either experience or witness some form of abuse to which I have gained a great insight into the grieving process.

Working for Eaves Women’s Aid as a counsellor, which involves supporting women who have suffered Domestic Violence and various other types of abuse. I feel that the experience and knowledge that I have gained throughout the year is vast for example; recognising that the client issues may extend beyond themselves into their families and the environment. I worked with client’s to help them confront their presenting problems for example; dealing with housing, social services, schooling and legal etc.

I consider my greatest strength is that I care. My personal philosophy is that I strive daily to build people up rather than breaking them down.
