Personal Profile
My BA Hons in Education Studies & Psychology I earned from Middlesex University, London, in 2003. Subsequently, I gained a Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Regent's College, London, in 2004.
I am a Member of the BACP and am due to be accredited with them shortly.
Areas of Experience:
Since 2004 my experience in counselling includes
· Running a private practice for adult individuals
· Work with young people,
· Telephone Counselling/Crisis Helpline
· Work with women from abusive/violent backgrounds and
· Associate Counsellor/Psychotherapist for LACAP
· Work with different ethnic minorities for Mind in Barnet
Work Approach
In my work, I mainly integrate the humanistic and psychodynamic approaches to therapy and apply them appropriate to the needs of the client.
I maintain that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client has the potential to be the most healing element in the therapeutic process. I believe that self-awareness is the first step to improvement and I work towards facilitating the most conducive environment for its development - including strict confidentiality and provision of a safe and secure setting.
Furthermore, I work towards creating a calm atmosphere, in which the client can feel comfortable, begin to trust our relationship and feel at ease to open up.
