Personal Profile
I completed my Diploma in Counselling at Sheffield Hallam University and I am now a partner in a private counselling practice, Sheffield Central Counselling.www.sheffieldcentralcounselling.co.uk
As well as seeing private clients, as a counsellor working in an NHS setting I have helped individuals of all ages with a wide range of issues.
In addition to my counselling experience I have worked for many years in advice work and tenancy support, working one to one with people from a range of backgrounds, providing emotional and practical support.
Work Approach
For me counselling is often about gaining understanding and awareness of who you are as an individual. Counselling can help you resolve underlying issues in your life which hold you back, leaving you free to begin living life to the full.
I aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where you can speak freely, gain new insights and find your own way forward.
My priority is to build a good relationship with you because research shows that counselling is most effective when the counsellor and client have a good working relationship.
My approach to counselling is integrative which means that I draw on various different models including Gestalt, Person-Centered and Cognitive-Behavioural approaches, depending on your particular situation and what seems to work best for you.
About Sheffield Central Counselling
We offer an affordable private counselling service to individuals from all kinds of backgrounds, in a safe and pleasant environment.
We are committed to making private counselling accessible and affordable for everyone. Our central location is easily accessible by bus and tram from all parts of Sheffield. It is particularly attractive to those who live or work in the City Centre. If you work full time it may be difficult for you to find the time to talk to a counsellor. As well as daytime appointments, we offer early evening sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, so if it is more convenient, you can come for counselling straight after work.
All our counsellors are qualified, experienced members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and are from a variety of religious, social and ethnic backgrounds.
