Personal Profile
I am a BACP accredited person centred counsellor in Sunderland city centre. I have undertaken additional training in eating disorders, dream therapy, self harm and stress management.
I have offered therapy to a wide range of client groups from the elderly to young people and have worked within many sectors from the voluntary sector, to the NHS. I have a private practice where I offer therapy to individuals and employers.
I am a clinical supervisor and offer supervision alongside therapy.
I am also a qualified lecturer and previously held the position of course leader for Health and Social Care within a local college. I taught counselling and psychology among other social care modules.
I am a Prince's Trust mentor and assist young people in starting out in business. I also teach on the Exploring Enterprise course.
Work Approach
My proffessional approach is person centred. You, the client, are the focus; you choose what you wish to explore and you dictate the pace of disclosure which is the most beneficial and comfortable for you. Person centred therapy offers a safe, confidential environment in which to explore your concerns. You will not be judged or patronised, but rather, supported in finding your own way forward.
My approach is challenging but supportive with understanding at it's core.
