Personal Profile
I decided to folow a career in counselling when i finished my degree at Liverpool Community College. Before this I was a Midwife and Neonatal Nurse.
Since qualifiying i have practiced as a Primary Care Counsellor in various G.P centres across the city, delivering care to clients in need and many times crisis. Before this I worked at a rape crisis centre and a bereavment centre, counselling both adults and children.
Work Approach
My theoretical approach is always based on the clients need. I believe clients have the right to decide how they want to work. I have training in Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ,Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am able to be creative with my work and when a client feels they can no longer talk, we are able to use art work to release pent up emotions.A range of approaches can be discussed in the innitial assessment.
